Pediatric Department at Shree Hospital is well equipped with the state-of-art equipment. Experienced child specialist Dr Patankar takes care of the department. We aim at providing quality health care facility exclusively for children up to age of 18 years with high level care in pediatrics services including inpatient , outpatient pediatric ICU and pediatric surgery. Some Common Baby Problems -

  • Cold, cough and ear infection - Baby's & kids typically get 6 to 8 colds a year. Just think of all the stuff they are constantly stic king to their mouth and it’s easy to understand why. Saline drops in the nose can reduce congestion. This is especially helpful for babies who are too young to blow their noses. Put a cool-mist vaporizer in their bedroom. Moist air helps alleviate congestion. If your child has a severe cough and fever >100*F then you should go to the doctor.
  • Baby Steps -
    • 0 - 4 months - Alternate the direction of your baby’s face while asleep. Do not use a pillow to keep the head in place. Hold & support your baby's head while awake. Place your baby on back to play, make sure that the surface is firm.
    • 5 - 8 months - Your baby gets scared, whether in response to unexpected noise, a strange or angry voice.
    • 9 - 12 month - Your baby develops pointing skill at this age.
  • Baby Tooth time - Babies get their teeth in pairs. First comes the middle two on the bottom. A month or so later the 2 above arrive.

    • 10 month - Lower & Upper Lateral incisors
    • 14 month - First molar
    • 18 month - Canines

  • Baby Proof House - As your baby learns to sit, crawl, stand or walk. She will be exposed to new experiences & new dangers. In the kit chen, put your baby in a secure spot when you are cooking. In the bathroom, turn down the water heater to 120* F for lower. Protect sockets near the sink from the water. Use a nonskid mat, put a cover on the faucet, and cover all electrical outlets.
  • Baby First Food - It is best to introduce solid foods when your baby is between 4 & 6 months. Until your child is 1 year avoid honey - it contains spores that may produce allergy. Until your child turns 4 don't feed following foods which are choking hazards.

PICU at Shree Hospital provides highly specialized care to critically ill children. PICU ward is multidisciplinary unit, equipped with advanced technology and provides personalized care for infants, children and adolescents who become critically ill or injured.
